The Goal of the Festival “Tamburitza 2008“
The goal set by the Organizer of Tamburitza Fest 2008 is to preserve the authentic music, cherish the tradition, historical values, customs and culture of the nations; to be a reminder of national customs and moral; to familiarize the public with the authentic values of the region; to promote, all over the world, cultural and moral values of the country and Serbian culture and tradition; to familiarize the public with the authentic music and traditions of other countries; and to affirm universality of tamburitza music.

Vision and Mission
-of the Festival “ Tamburitza 2008“ is to become the greatest world festival that promotes tamburitza music. Our mission is to spread the culture and customs of our nation around the world and to bring here a breeze of cultures and customs of other countries.

Values
-that lead us are encompassed by our goals, vision and the mission of the festival.  Our values are comprised in moral perceptions, customs and culture of our nation.

The Festival Tamburitza 2008 will be held in a village of Deronje, close to Odzaci, on June 27, 28. and 29, 2008.
Admirers, followers and fans of tamburitza music will have the opportunity and pleasure to enjoy the sound of tamburitza music during the three day manifestation. During the informal part of the program, fans of this instrument will have the opportunity to enjoy tamburitza music day and night in the surrounding restaurants. This way the visitors will have the opportunity to choose an orchestra which will play as they desire.
At the final night of the Festival, six best orchestras will play at the competition for the festival awards, where performances of all participants will be evaluated by professional jury.
Besides music, as a basis of the Festival program, many cultural events are scheduled to provide world cultural importance to the “Festival Tamburitza 2008” and contribute to the preservation of culture and folklore of our nations. The main idea behind the organization of additional manifestations during the Festival is for “Tamburitza 2008” to remain remembered and highly ranked on the list of cultural manifestations of our culture. In addition to the mentioned activities, we plan other events related to our way of life and customs of the region (old crafts, female domestic skills etc.) by which we would like to demonstrate the wealth of this region’s tradition.
